Jet lag is one of the effects of traveling through different time zones, especially if the place we are going has at least eight hours difference from our time zone. Jet lag happens basically because our body is set to think its night time in our area, but when we reach our destination, it is clearly already early morning with the sunshine gleaming. However, instead of enjoying yourself with the beautiful surroundings, you are stuck sleeping in a hotel, and you lose a day or two before you can start your true vacation.
Jet lag can be prevented if you have enough preparation before the travel itself. There are things that you need to do in order to prevent it from happening once you arrive at your vacation spot or business spot.
Before you arrive, you have to prepare your body at least a week before traveling. You sleep an hour earlier so that your body will slowly adjust to the time of you destination. If you are already on the plane, try to get some sleep if it’s nighttime in your hometown. No need to stay awake just to adjust with the time zone that you will be experiencing.
While traveling, make sure you stay away from alcohol and caffeine as much as possible. These drinks will make you unstable and dehydrated easily, and once you arrive, it will make matters worse because of their effects. You can prevent this by eating healthy and drinking lots of water.
You have to adjust your internal clock as soon as you arrive in your destination. If you are going on a business travel, you don’t want to look tired around your business partners. To make sure everything goes well, arrive at least 24 hours before the scheduled date and time. This will give you enough preparation and you body will be relaxed and well adjusted.
Sometimes jet lags are just mental. We have to just stop thinking about home. Not that we have to forget it entirely, but we have to ignore the fact that they are already sleeping, and so should you if only you are there. Remember that you are in a completely different time zone and you should adjust to it fast. Once you arrive at the airport, remember that it’s daytime and you don’t need to sleep. You must prevent yourself from sleeping during the day either by staying outside or by avoiding dark indoor areas. Remember to be patient with since you will be really tempted to sleep. Sleeping on the plane also works for adjusting your body to the conditions that you will experience.
Jet lag is very easy to overcome if we prepare for it at least a week before the flight happens. Most of the time, it only takes a little bit of mental work so that our brains can adjust to any changes in the conditions that might occur. It’s quite simple, but just to be sure, prepare for the travel at least a week before the departure date.

Google Documents Getting More Sophisticated

Google Documents is slowly but surely becoming an online alternative to Microsoft Office. Since its introduction, the online word processing suite has gone through many upgrades and changes, but a new round of updates may finally bring Google Documents the sophistication and ease-of-use to equal Microsoft’s products.
The biggest difference between Google Documents and Microsoft Office is that Google’s suite is entirely online, and works with any operating system via a standard Web browser. This ensures that users can access their work no matter where they are in the world, not just on their home computer. Additionally, Google Documents allows organized collaboration on text documents, and conversion of documents into a variety of popular formats, including PDF.
And now, Google is about to update the program to add even more features and compatibility. Long-time users of Google Documents will be happy to see that print settings and print preview functionality has been added to the suite. Google has also redesigned the document sharing options to make it easier to set permissions and assign collaborators with just a touch of a button.
But possibly the most exciting aspect of the update is the promise of fully editable document templates, and the ability to apply CSS formatting to your documents. The inclusion of CSS also makes it possible for you to create your own custom templates if none of the available styles suit your needs.
While Microsoft Word has long had the capability to apply formatting to documents, and comes standard with a variety of document templates, so far there have been no online word processors with such advanced functionality.
These new features bring Google Documents one step closer to being a state-of-the-art word processing suite that is entirely online, with nothing to download, and no pesky registration codes. Already, some businesses and government offices have begun switching over to Google Documents, primarily because all of the cost savings.
But if Google continues to add functionality to its word processing suite, it won’t be long before the program will be every bit as capable as Microsoft Office, and users may switchover simply because it’s a more convenient program — not just because it’s cheaper.
As for Microsoft, they are also keen to further develop their online version of Word, though they are definitely behind in the race at this point. Google is continuing to invest heavily in Google Documents, and they are so firmly established online at this point that it will be difficult — if not impossible — for Microsoft to catch up.

Phoenix, Arizona. USA

I have been living here in phoenix for almost 4 years now. Just thought to write & let people know how nice & fun being here in phoenix.
Phoenix is the capital city of the United States Of Arizona. People from other states do think, it is terrible place to live during summer. Well i agree, just have to tolerate the hottest days.
The temperature reaches or exceeds 100 °F (38 °C) on an average of 89 days during the year, including most days from early June through early September.
After that oh boy, the most beautiful place to live. We don't get snow, but the weather gets cold, where you still be able to do outdoor activities.
Google Earth Goes Beyond the Sky
Here is the interesting thing about google maps!Google is extending the scope of its highly successful Google Earth satellite mapping technology into space with the launch of Google Sky. Google Sky, which is embedded into newest version of Google Earth. Sky provides Google Earth users a facility to explore the stars and galaxies sans the use of a telescope.
Google Sky delivers a zoomed in imagery of constellations into a user’s dekstop. With Sky’s technology, users can observe the movements of planets, stars and even watch a supernova explosion.
To use Google Sky, Google Earth users must update their installations with the newest version of Google Earth. From the new installation, a SKy button on the toolbar at the top of the screen opens up a new whole dimension of the space. With a click of the mouse after selecting a specific location, users will witness the wonders of the space above the earth.
And to make it more even useful, Google Sky is also available in 13 other languages.
